Perineal Re-education

Perineal re-education begins after the postnatal check-up (approximatively 6 weeks after birth). These consultations will help you to be aware about your pelvic floor and get back to a normal tonicity of this area after the pregnancy and the birth. It is also a good opportunity to know yourself a bit better and to prevent future incontinence and prolapsus. Your midwife will guide you manually (inernal examination-exercices) or with a probe if needed. The aim is for you to learn how to protect your pelvic floor everyday.

The perineal re-education can also be prescribed many years after your delivery, if you experience incontinence or prolapsus during your daily life.
